What is new about the World Cup 2026

  • Usually, 32 teams participate in the world cup finals. However, this time FIFA decided that 48 countries, from different continents, are going to take part in the world cup 2026.
  • Although the finals of world cup 2022 are taking place in Qatar in November and December due to the high temperature in the Gulf countries, the timeline of the world cup 2026 will be returned to take place in June and July as usual.
  • The USA will host the most matchs including the semi-finals and finals.
  • It will be the first time that Canada is going to host the world cup. While Mexico will host the world cup for the third time after hosting the Mondial in 1970 and 1986.
